Voters Keep Incumbents at Calexico School Board

November 29, 2018

     Voters on Nov. 6 decided to keep the incumbents on the Calexico Unified School District School Board of Trustees for the next four years, according to unofficial final results.


     Three seats were up for grabs and results show Ciro Calderon leading the race with 2,042 votes, followed by Richard Romero with 1,816 and Lorenzo “Lencho” Calderon Jr. with 1,687.


     The count is according to the complete unofficial results reported on the Imperial County Election Department website, ElectionResults/Results110618/ResultsReports.pdf. It showed all 27 district precincts reporting with 8,617 votes cast.


     The department will make the results official at a later date.


     The two challengers, Jose Guillen and Gloria Romo, received 1,541 and 1,531 votes, respectively. Guillen was endorsed by the Associated Calexico Teachers and Romo is currently a board member of the Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District.
