Negrete Leads Storey in Race For Judge

November 29, 2018

In the race for Superior Court Judge Seat 3 attorney Monica Lepe Negrete appeared to have won over attorney and former county district attorney Tom Storey in the Nov. 6 voting.

Negrete had 11,191 votes to 8,168 for Storey. They were the top two voter getters in the June 5 primary.

The count is according to the complete unofficial results reported on the Imperial County Election Department website, ElectionResults/Results110618/ResultsReports.pdf. It showed all 216 district precincts reporting in the countywide race with 19,359 votes cast.

The department will make the results official at a later date.

Lepe Negrete gave credit to the support of voters for her current lead.

"I do have a lot of priorities, primarily to work with the rest of the members of the bench to collaborate with them and make sure our courts run efficiently and provide access to everyone in the community."
