Heber residents seeking to express their ideas about upcoming projects can do so by attending a community meeting that will be held by Imperial County officials at 6 p.m. on Sept. 12 in the Heber Community Center, 1132 Heber Ave.
Topics on the agenda include road improvement projects recently approved by the county board of supervisors. The Heber projects will improve 3.6 miles of streets with an estimated construction cost of $1.3 million. Included will be improvements on Hawk Street from Dogwood to Heber roads at a cost of $352,043.
Work on the street improvements is expected to begin December.
Heber residents have expressed concern over the lack of sidewalks in parts of the unincorporated town and asked the supervisors explore how improvements might be made. District 2 Supervisor Luis Plancarte in an interview recently invited Heber residents to attend this community forum to make their concerns known.
