The Calexico City Council cancelled its meeting scheduled for Aug. 15,
Deputy City Clerk Gabriela Garcia said.
She noted in September 2017 when the master calendar was drafted the entire month of August was originally scheduled to go dark because activity typically slows down in the summer. But because there was so much business going on a meeting was convened for Aug. 1 and another scheduled for Aug. 15.
However, a special meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 in the council chambers, Garcia added. An agenda will be posted on the city's website, calexico.ca.gov, at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, she added.
The council also held a special meeting on Aug. 8 at which it approved placing a measure on the Nov. 6 ballot asking city voters to approve taxes on cannabis sales in the city. That matter had been tabled at the Aug. 1 meeting.
